Description

NEST Tulum the highly-acclaimed beach hotel celebrated for its natural simplicity is located on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Mexican Caribbean. Priding itself on high attention to details, service and it’s food offerings.

Natural Simplicity in the style of old Tulum Beach with modern updates.

The roots of the villa extend back to when the white sand beaches were populated with little more than a few huts and a fish taco stand. Since then, the region has become one of the most popular destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, but NEST has worked hard to hold on to a piece of the old Tulum.

HOME
The house and villa were originally built as private vacation homes for two families. We have continued this tradition by keeping NEST authentic and exclusive. We are primarily a referral hotel, meaning we don’t use any external booking sites. To know about us you must find us on social media, through blogs and articles, or hear about us from friends. NEST is meant to feel like you are at a friend’s house on the beach. This has translated to many repeat guests and referrals. We hope to welcome you to our house as friends.

HISTORY
The houses were originally built 22 years ago when Tulum was only a few beach shacks, hammocks, and a fish taco stand. The original owners literally had to machete the jungle back from the dirt road so they could get to their homes. Now powered only by wind and solar with generator backup, the homes were built by hand with local Mayan craftsmen using locally sourced materials. We aim to honor this tradition by keeping as much of the natural beauty intact as possible.

LOCAL
We are very proud of our deep Tulum heritage. We do our best to source all of our food products and furnishings from local suppliers and vendors. We believe if we take care of the community the community will take care of us. We love to support locally owned businesses by referring you to the best spots to visit during your stay.

SIMPLICITY
We believe in taking our guests back to the roots of the region. From your first steps onto the property you will be taken along a majestic path and garden, leading to the main building originally designed and built by Mayans in the traditional Mayan style. Upon entering the living room, the beautiful white sands and the blue Caribbean sea open up to you. Our house and grounds have been designed with natural simplicity to allow our guests to take away the clutter and enjoy Tulum as it should be enjoyed.

COMMUNITY
The property was originally built to house a family and it’s now run as a small family business. We strive to continue that tradition by creating an environment where each guest feels comfortable and at home.

NATURE
NEST is situated where dense jungle meets the crystal clear waters and white sand beach. We are moments away from the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sian Ka’an which is home to nearly 100 different species. Also nearby are the historic Tulum ruins, while the Yucatan houses more than 6000 cenotes (freshwater sinkholes), more than any other place on earth. Indeed, many people say that Tulum has certain healing properties thanks to its unique energy.

MATERIAL
Natural and simple. The harsh environment of Tulum dictates how and what to use. As visitors here, we must respect the environment’s wishes. That means using stone, concrete, and natural plasters and wood furnishings. We’ve sourced our materials from local suppliers and most of the furnishings were made by hand from local craftsman. Our goal is to connect the buildings and rooms to the place where they belong.

ATMOSPHERE
Simple and relaxed. With a high attention to detail and service, NEST is located in the heart of all the best restaurants, shops, and hotels while remaining a world apart. You can easily go to eat, shop, drink and explore before returning to your private hotel to relax and recharge.
